Amy and Erin were amazing. They led twelve 8-9 year old Girl Scouts in an hour of self defense. I heard from almost every parent how much they loved it. Will definitely do again next year!!! So...

Culture of Safety is a queer, trans, non-binary, and woman-owned dojo located in Rogers Park, Chicago, dedicated to providing empowerment-based self-defense and traditional karate classes through Jin Sei Ryu Karate-Do International. The organization promotes an inclusive environment, supporting individuals of all backgrounds regardless of immigration status or gender identity, while emphasizing personal safety, confidence, and wellness.
In addition to karate and self-defense training, Culture of Safety offers wellness services such as Shiatsu bodywork, meditation, Tai Chi, and QiGong classes, all aimed at fostering a holistic approach to health. Our Girl Scout troop had a great self defense class today by Culture of Safety! They were engaging, very thoughtful and our girls really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend!
