Oak Park & River Forest Day Nursery had its beginning in 1912, when a group of socially conscious women started the nursery to provide total childcare to working women in the community. Based at Oak Park, Ill., it currently provides full-time childcare and preschool education to up to 77 children from Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park and surrounding communities. Apart form serving high-income families, the nursery also accepts low-income families who qualify for the state-subsidized childcare program. Oak Park & River Forest Day Nursery is licensed by the Village of Oak Park and the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services. It also holds an accreditation of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
