Always a very enjoyable massage from Summer! She's very personable and very good at massage. The stretching as shown feels amazing and leaves me feeling rejuvenated! I always feel great afterwards!

Each year it becomes even more obvious that an integrated approach to health care raises the ceiling of possibilities when it comes to issues such as healing, rehabilitation, preventive care, and maturation. Since chiropractors focus on restoration of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, massage therapy can prove to be a valuable asset as you progress through your chiropractic treatment plan. Unfortunately, massage therapy is often forgotten or even ignored by many in the health care field. As a result, our doctors at Meridian Chiropractic Health Center in Schaumburg IL have put together this short article to help you understand and decide if massage therapy is right for you. What kind of massage therapist should I look for? While the type of massage will differ depending on the condition or symptoms present, every licensed massage therapist should abide by the following:Has the massage therapist obtained all of the required state licenses?Every massage therapist should carry proper insurance coverageIs the office where the massage therapist practices licensed and approved by the state board?Has the massage therapist stayed up-to-date with advancements in massage therapy through continuing education courses?Beyond their physical skills, you should always feel at ease when working with your massage therapistLastly, massages that are overseen and directed by a licensed doctor are preferredHow Can Massage Therapy Help Me?As mentioned previously, massage therapy treatment plans are directly tied to your current condition or concern. Therefore, the results of massage therapy vary largely on an individual basis. Below are some of the benefits that our patients at Meridian Chiropractic Health Center have experienced following massage therapy:Improvements in digestive problemsReductions in anxiety and stressImproved sleepDecreased frequency and intensity of headachesFaster and more efficient healing following sports related injuriesBetter circulationCorrected postureReductions in the pain associated with carpal tunnel syndromeLess pain and symptoms for patients suffering from fibromyalgiaImproved back and neck pain
