The Louis Stokes Midwest Regional Center of Excellence (LSMRCE) is a partnership between Chicago State University (CSU), Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), the Ohio State University (OSU), and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab). Funded by the National Science Foundation, LSMRCE aims to broaden the participation and representation of underrepresented minority groups in the STEM workforce by powering relationships with Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) projects and strengthening partnerships with non-LSAMP institutions in the Midwest. LSMRCE implements strategic plans that include organizing annual Broadening Participation conferences, providing social science research guidance and support, offering research skill development and mentoring activities for underrepresented minority students, and developing a virtual resource center to disseminate program information and evidence-based practices.
