I see people in my Loop and Hyde Park offices, individually, as couples, in families and in groups. I help people with anxiety, depression and various addictions, such as overeating, gambling, alcohol, drugs, sex, or any compulsive activity that is interfering with their lives. When working with couples, I usually see the couple first so I can see how they relate to each other and find out their goals, individually and as a couple. Often couple issues stem from issues in their families of origin. Sometimes it is helpful for each member of a couple to work on these issues in his/her own weekly group, getting the understanding and support from other group members. Another modality is a couples' group, made up of 4 or 5 couples that meet once or twice a month for mutual understanding and support.
