Windy City Women's Charity Club (WCWCC), Chicago's own women-led not-for-profit volunteer organization, aims to fulfill the dream and passion of giving back to the community in which we all live, while empowering women from all walks of life. WCWCC was formed in 2001 with little more than a dream and time to give. Today, WCWCC has logged hundreds of volunteer hours over our 13 years of existence. Chicagoland residents' needs cover a vast range of community service opportunities including home repairs, event coordination, meal service, youth projects and more. Each month, WCWCC hosts a Saturday of Service in which compassionate female volunteers are invited to participate. In addition to regular monthly events, our service opportunities are extended to our male friends once every quarter to further extend our scope of service across the region. HistoryCross-Cultural Interpreting Services was established in 1996 to improve access to services for Limited-English-Proficiency (LEP) individuals. CCIS was the first program of its kind in Illinois to recruit, assess language skills, and train in the medical interpreting field. Cross-Cultural Interpreting Services is a program of Heartland Alliance for Human Rights and Human Needs, a not for profit organization established here in Chicago 125 years ago. When you work with CCIS, you become a partner with Heartland Alliance--a service-based human rights organization focused on investments and solutions for the most vulnerable men, women, and children in our society.
