Blue Sky Bakery & Cafe

History

Blue Sky Bakery & Cafe was founded specifically to provide jobs to youth with barriers to employment. We hire youth with criminal backgrounds, a history of homelessness, incomplete educations, and/or little or no work experience. Youth are trained in all aspects of the cafe, including cooking and baking all of the food that we serve, creating espresso drinks, and waiting on our fabulous customers. They work at the bakery for twelve weeks, and then given assistance in securing their next long-term position.

Specialties

Our scones are one of our main specialties, and include white cheddar chive, pear ginger almond, mixed berry & cranberry whole wheat. They became a hit at the Farmers Markets, and are now available year-round at the cafe. For breakfast, we serve our scones and muffins, maple cashew granola, fresh quiche and breakfast sandwiches, featuring our housemade red pepper aioli.
