Bloomingdale Park District - Johnston Recreation Center

Mt. Prospect Park District was incorporated in 1955 and encompasses more than 450 acres. The park district, located in Mount Prospect, Ill., and provides recreation programs, facilities and services to the community residents. It offers its residents more than 30 parks and recreational facilities. The park district features a golf course, playgrounds, pools, fitness centers and biking and walking paths. Its recreational facilities include RecPlex, a recreation complex, fitness and aerobic centers, a gymnasium, indoor pools and sand volleyball and racquetball courts. It also has a children's wing with playground, preschool, after school care and baby-sitting services. It also provides a wave pool, baseball diamonds, football and soccer fields, lighted tennis courts and ice-skating areas. It is affiliated with the Mt. Prospect Football and Cheerleading Association and the American Soccer Club. Mt. Prospect Park District offers its programs in the areas of fitness, dance, performing and visual arts, aquatics, athletics and gardening.
