On the Rox Counseling

HistoryOn the Rox Counseling was conceived long before the shingle was placed out in 2014. Probably about a decade earlier. Unfortunately, for the public, life got in the way of it being a reality before 2014. The idea is to provide quality care for clients, at a reasonable price (not allowing money to get in the way of providing services). Simple enough right. Well, there is a lot more that goes into that than meet the eye. First, we had to find a place to start. Lucky we found the Lightheart Center, that we were able to afford for the last 4.5 years. During which time we have grown. Now we have interns and possible independent contractors working with us this fall. We have a divorce mediation program starting this summer. We have clients that come to the office and we see in the community. The next step is a larger space to accommodate our growth. So, now we are moving into a 3 office suite. Who knows what will be next for us.SpecialtiesOn the Rox Counseling is about working with the clients where they are, in all aspects of their lives. We don't talk down to people. We talk to people. it doesn't always feel like therapy. Our style is very conversational, kind of like talking to someone you have known for a long time. We also don't chain ourselves to one particular theory. We believe that people are not one sided, so why would one theory fit all situations. We use a thought eclectic approach, which means we are well versed in all theories and use the one that fits the situation that arises, when it arises. We work with people that have issues with Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Addiction Issues, Eating Disorders (if they are also working with a psychiatrist and nutritionist and have been stabilized), Cancer Survivors/those going through treatment, Bereavement Issues, Some trauma related issues, GLBTQ+ Population, Elderly Population, Adolescent Population, Middle Aged Population and everyone else.
