Angelo’s Wine Bar, an Italian fusion shared plates restaurant, originally opened in 1962 as a casual take out pizzeria. As the neighborhood grew so did Angelo’s. In 2015 the restaurant closed for a massive facelift which included launching a wine program and new menu. Chef Julia Helton's rustic menu, featuring Midwest ingredients from valued local purveyors, takes its cue from her travels to South East Asia, South America, and Europe. Beyond reflecting the aromas, flavors and colors of the Italian explorers in its cuisine, Angelo's wine list focuses on boutique vineyards from Italy, France, and Spain with a nod to several excellent American producers. Wine and the food it pairs with remains at Angelo’s core. Curated by our sommelier Georges Bredoux the wine list features small producers from France, Italy, Spain and America, the list offers 101 wines priced between $30 and $90 a bottle with a reserve list for those who want to splurge. Thirty wines are offered by the glass.

All pizza types are great. They have comfy outdoor seating. Sometimes they have relaxing live dinner music. Restaurant and bathrooms are always clean. Food always comes out fast.
