The Idaho State Independent Living Council (SILC) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and independence for Idahoans with disabilities through advocacy, support, and collaboration with various organizations. As the only statewide entity governed by a majority of people with disabilities, SILC actively engages in developing the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) to address the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families.

With a vision of inclusion and respect for disability as a natural part of human experience, SILC aims to break down systemic barriers and amplify the voices of people with disabilities. Their mission focuses on promoting self-determination, equity, and access, ensuring that people with disabilities have the resources and support necessary to lead independent lives.
