Highway Department

The Division of Highways is governed by the Idaho Transportation Department. The division is responsible for providing highway maintenance, operation, safety and traffic services. The Division of Highways also organizes volunteer activities, such as Adopt-A-Highway and artifact curation program. The division, with the help of the Office of Highway Safety, conducts various programs and activities to reduce death and injuries from motor vehicle crashes in the state. The Idaho Transportation Department governs various forms of public road and air transportation systems. The department is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of various modes of statewide transportation to move interstate commerce, out-of-state visitors and citizens of Idaho.
