History
Glen and Katie Scott established Glenwood Smoked Products in 1961 in Roberts, ID. It was originally a meat processing plant. It was there that Glen developed his original beef jerky recipe that is still in use today. He also began experimenting with smoking turkeys. He had the idea that turkeys could be smoked the same as ham. After a few tests the famous Glenwood Smoked Turkey was born. Glenwood wrote the book on smoking turkeys. It was such a unique product that meat inspection regulations had not even been written yet. Wanting to concentrate on the turkeys and beef jerky, they sold the meat processing plant, and in 1978 moved Glenwood to its current location at 4491 N Haroldsen in Idaho Falls. Glen's two sons, Clark and Mitch Scott, and his daughter Ebony French joined the company when it moved to Idaho Falls. The Scott family is a native of Idaho and they had lived in Roberts since 1954. They love the state of Idaho and take full advantage of the great outdoors,
