About Us Since opening our doors in 1950, the caregivers at St. Francis have been committed each day to providing the highest quality care in west Georgia and east Alabama. With 376 beds on two campuses, more than 2,500 associates, and 300 physicians, we offer a full range of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room services, including the only open-heart surgery program in Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley. And to ensure that we always offer our patients unsurpassed care, we continue to grow and expand. Our affiliation with Emory Clinic's Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2016 helped take our cardiac service to the next level bringing life-saving care to more people. The opening of our two newest towers in 2013 allowed us to locate cardiac services and cardiology practices under one roof, making care more convenient for patients. The opening of St. Francis Sue Marie Turner Women's Hospital that same year brought obstetrical services back to the hospital. And, The Bradley Center, serving the Chattahoochee Valley since 1955, continues to be the premier provider of services for people with mental illness and addiction disorders. St. Francis has been a part of this community for almost three generations now. Our Columbus Rehabilitation team is located at the main campus of The Hughston Clinic in North Columbus. Easily accessible from I-185, I-80, and Veterans Parkway. The building sits across from Aldi and Budget Car & Truck. Our Columbus based PT/PTA(s) and OTs feature a wide array of sub-specialties including general orthopedics, sports medicine, dry needling, nerve conduction (EMG), aquatic therapy, concussion therapy, spine therapy, certificated hand therapist (CHT), vestibular, work conditioning, and functional capacity evaluations (FCE).The physicians of Hughston Clinic's main campus specialize in all areas of orthopedics ranging from issues of the foot and ankle to the spine.

Todd Bonvallet, MD, a board-certified spinal surgeon, joins Hughston Clinic in Columbus, GA, as a member of the spinal team. Dr. Bonvallet received his undergraduate degree from Montana State University in 1984 and his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1991. He went on to complete his internship and residency in orthopaedics at Los Angeles County USC Med-Center and, afterward, a spine fellowship at the Florida Neck and Back Institute in Gainesville, FL. Since 1997, Dr. Bonvallet has practiced at Spine Surgery Associates in Chattanooga where he was also Professor of Orthopedic Spine at the University of Tennessee for 14 years. Dr. Bonvallet has also taught minimally invasive spine surgery both nationally and internationally, including China. He is additionally the inventor of the Atlantis Translational Plate for Medtronic as well as the creator of a posterior minimally invasive lumbar spine implant with Precision Spine.
