Koyasan Shingon Mission of Hawaii is a nonprofit organization established in 1915 to govern the 12 Koyasan Shingon Buddhist member missions across four Hawaiian islands. Led by Bishop Clark Watanabe and 14 trained reverends certified by Koyasan Kongobuji headquarters in Japan, the mission is a member of the Hawaii Buddhist Council.
As part of the Shingon sect of Japanese Buddhism, Koyasan Shingon Buddhism is one of 18 schools with its headquarters located on Mount Koya in Wakayama Ken, Japan, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. The mission's member missions on Oahu, Big Island, Maui, and Kauai offer various services and events, including Obon and Bon dances, providing spiritual guidance and community engagement.
