The Hawai inui kea School of Hawaiian Knowledge, established in 2007, is a pioneering institution on the Manoa campus, marking the first new college since 1982. As the only college of indigenous knowledge within a Research I institution in the United States, it encompasses the Kamakakō Kalani Center for Hawaiian Studies, the Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language, and the Ka Papa Loʻi o Knewai Cultural Garden, focusing on the revitalization and perpetuation of Hawaiian knowledge.

With a mission to pursue and research all forms of Hawaiian knowledge, Hawai inui kea also serves as a hub for Native Hawaiian Student Services and community engagement initiatives. This unique school not only educates students but also fosters partnerships and connections within the wider community to promote the richness of Hawaiian culture.
