Pahoa High & Intermediate School

Pahoa High & Intermediate School is governed by the Hawaii State Department of Education. The school serves students in grades 7 through 12. Founded in 1840, the Hawaii State Department of Education operates a statewide school district with more than 250 schools that serve over 170,000 students. The department s schools curricula include fine arts, science, social studies, world languages, language arts, and physical and health education. Its schools provide special education and related services to eligible students. The department s schools also offer gifted and talented education programs. The Hawaii State Department of Education operates nearly 30 high school learning centers that coordinate special programs in humanities, international studies, music, math, and agriculture, business and computer technology education.
