Founded in 1869, the YMCA of Honolulu is one of the largest providers of school-age child care services in Hawaii. It works in partnership with the Department of Education to provide after-school programs for nearly 7,000 children in kindergarten through grade six. The organization employs more than 40 full-time substance abuse counselors who serve over 25 public schools throughout Hawaii. The YMCA of Honolulu offers a 12-week weight management program that focuses on the areas of exercise, nutrition and healthy eating habits. It provides swimming for all levels and ages with recreational swimming and water aerobic activities. In addition, the organization conducts martial arts, judo, karate and aikido classes. The YMCA of Honolulu also offers before- and after-school, youth sports, teen leadership, and health and wellness programs. It currently operates nine branches with one of its locations in Honolulu.

This place has gone absolutely downhill in their youth department. My children used to attend all of their intercession, summer and A+ programs, but not anymore. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR KIDS....
