Come and enjoy an Outrigger Canoe Tour, Take part in fun, hands on demonstrations about canoe paddling, the culture of voyaging and using all elements of our environment to navigate and settle the Pacific. Learn how we used the stars, ocean, wind, and birds to navigate to Tahiti, New Zealand, and Easter Island!! We invite you to experience a traditional Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Tour as you learn the art and sport of canoe paddling & information pertaining to the non-instrumental navigational techniques used by Polynesian voyagers. Your journey departs Wailea Beach along the south coast of Maui with Haleakala, Lanai, Molokini, Kaho’olawe and West Maui Mountains as your backdrop. Enjoy the pristine waters off Wailea point as you swim in a magnificent coral-sea garden with an abundance of sea life including turtles (honu), eagle rays, dolphins, whales (seasonal) and species of fish endemic to this island paradise.Relive a part of Hawaiian history as our cultural guides teach you traditional chants (oli), ancient myths, legends and historical facts.
