On your way down from Haleakala Makawao is a short distance away. Your timing needs to be right, ours wasn't this trip. Why? Komoda Bakery was closed so no giant cream puffs for us, oh well......

Quint village in the upcountry with lots of great little shops and restaurants. When you're tired of the beach (yeah right!) or just need a break from the heat, it's a short jaunt up the volcano.

Perfect day trip and escape from the coastal heat... lots of fun shopping and little things to discover. They have an open air market and a great Market and Deli too! We will definitely come back
