Mai Poina - The Overthrow History Walking Tour offers a unique and immersive experience that highlights the pivotal events leading to the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Developed by local playwright Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl, the tour features dramatic interpretations at six significant locations around Iolani Palace, emphasizing the perspectives of Native Hawaiians and various immigrant communities affected by this historical event.
In addition to the performances, the tour includes scholar discussions and a comprehensive Viewer's Guide to foster open dialogue and deeper understanding of Hawai'i's true history.
