While there, he trained in state-of-the-art hip and knee replacement techniques and worked with internationally recognized experts Dr. Adolph V. Lombardi Jr. and Dr. Keith R. Berend.Dr. Richardson is honored to continue his familys orthopedic legacy in Hawaii. His grandfather, Dr. Barrister (Buster) Allen Richardson, was the first Native Hawaiian board-certified orthopedic surgeon, and his father, Allen B. Richardson, was an internationally recognized expert in orthopedic sports medicine.In his spare time, Dr. Richardson is passionate about sports. He was co-captain of the mens water polo team while at UC Berkeley, and he continues to enjoy canoe paddling, surfing, swimming, hiking, and spending time with his family.
