Kokeʻe Natural History Museum is located at Kokeʻe State Park just past mile marker 15 on 550. It is open 365 days a year. Exhibits provide visitors with an overview of the natural and cultural history of Waimea Canyon and Kokeʻe State Parks. The museum interior was renovated in 2020 with additional exhibits slowly being introduced. The gift shop carries unique gifts and exclusive park souvenirs as well as informative books that illuminate the natural and cultural treasures of Kaua'i. Outside, available at any time, is a trail map with descriptions of the official trails. For weather information, check the homepage for www.kokee.org. Please visit dlnr/hawaii.gov for camping permits and current information regarding trails. Hui o Laka, the operator of the museum, is a private nonprofit organization and is not funded by the state or federal government. Suggested donation, $3.
