Ka Waihona O Ka Na'auao

Established in 2002, Ka Waihona o ka Naauao, Public Charter School is one of the first public charter schools on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The school has an annual enrollment of more than 350 students in kindergarten through grade seven. Ka Waihona o ka Naauao, Public Charter School offers a variety of special programs, such as multimedia and video production, gifted and talented education, Hawaiian culture and physical education. In addition, it conducts a Hawaiian language class, known as E Ola Mau Ka 'Olelo Hawai'I, which involves lectures, games, projects and history. The school organizes several cocurricular events, including welcome back assemblies, reading nights, parent-teacher conferences, spirit Fridays and book fairs.
