The Higashi Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii, established in Honolulu in 1916, serves as a hub for Buddhist teachings and community engagement. The temple, located on Alaneo Street, hosts a variety of classes, events, and services that promote the principles of Shin Buddhism.
Among its offerings are regular Sunday services, monthly movie nights featuring films with Buddhist themes, and communal activities like karaoke. The temple also conducts daily morning chanting sessions and memorial services that honor its founder, Shinran Shonin, fostering a welcoming environment for both members and visitors.
