Hideaways Beach in Princeville, Kauai is a secluded and picturesque gem, accessible only through a challenging and steep trail. With crystal clear waters and a beautiful coral reef, this crescent-shaped beach is backed by sea cliffs and offers a sense of intimacy and tranquility. While swimming may not be ideal due to the rocky ocean bottom, snorkeling conditions are good when the waters are calm. The beach is surrounded by lush surroundings and provides plenty of shade from the trees.
Visitors should be aware that the trail to Hideaways Beach is not suitable for small children, those with physical limitations, or those afraid of heights. The public right-of-way trail is more difficult than the reserved concrete pathway for guests of the Pali Ke Kua condominiums. The trek down to the beach takes about 10 minutes and requires holding onto metal poles and ropes for security.
