The Hawaiian Railway Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of railroading in Hawaii. With the only historic railroad on the island of Oahu and the state's sole operating railroad museum, visitors can enjoy train rides along a historic stretch of track in Ewa Beach while learning about the fascinating stories behind Hawaii's railroading past.

Passengers have the opportunity to take in the scenic views and can bring their own food and beverages on board or utilize the picnic area before or after their ride. The society also offers the option to reserve the picnic area for special occasions such as birthday parties. With a maximum capacity of 180, the Hawaiian Railway Society provides an educational and enjoyable experience for all.

We made a reservation online to play tourist for a day. I recommend this short train ride to get a little history lesson. I would take friends who visit me from the mainland on this ride.

Beware that this is not much of a "scenic" train ride. You do get to see the ocean for maybe 5 minutes of the 2 hour ride. We definitely felt a little bamboozled. It was more of a junkyard train...
