Tilt-up construction, one of its services, is a method for constructing concrete walls rapidly and economically without the formwork necessary for poured-in-place walls. These large slabs of concrete could weigh 40 tons or more, but average only 6- to 8-inches thick. When the concrete slabs are poured and have attained sufficient strength, a mobile truck crane is brought to the job site to lift and set them on prepared foundations. Specializing in both residential and commercial construction, Reef Development offers expert outer island services. Reef Development maintains a branch office in Maui, in addition to its Aiea location. It has served the state since 1969.
