Dustin is a military spouse of 18 years, has moved over 9 times, and lived in 3 different countries. It'd be hard to find someone who understands the excitement and stress of a new home and new environment more than she. While stationed overseas, Dustin made it her personal responsibility to help and support other incoming military families with their transition into a new environment. In the very beginning, these families relied heavily on the generosity of others to help with tasks such as getting groceries, registering their children in new schools and other basic needs. While helping them to love their new home and life was reward enough for her, the military saw fit to honor Dustin with the Golden Rose Award. This prestigious award recognizes volunteer service that makes a substantial contribution to the MI Corps and has a positive impact on the quality of life of soldiers and their families.
