Burl and Barrel

History

After 10 years of service , and several deployments overseas in the United States Navy, Evan decided to leave in pursuit of bringing his love of surf craft and woodworking to others, and opening Burl and Barrel. After leaving the military, Evan was formally trained at the Center for Furniture Design and Craftsmanship in Maine, which is widely regarded as the premier woodworking school in North America. There he focused on traditionally built, solid wood furniture. In a short time, Evan has already become an award winning and published furniture maker.

Burl and Barrel also specializes in making performance minded surf craft with an artistic flair. Each product that is built, starts as an individual idea, and is fine-tuned to be the best wave-riding vehicle we can make. The customer's ideas, height, weight, experience level, and local waves all come into consideration during the entire building process. Equal amounts of attention to detail are paid to the fiber glassing and finish work. We view our designs as functional pieces of art, and hope that our passion for our product speaks for itself.
