A family-owned indie bookstore located in Hilo, Island of Hawaii. Basically Books is conveniently located in downtown Hilo at 334 Kilauea Ave. Aside from street parking there is a public parking lot across the street, makai (seaward) of Ben Franklin Crafts. We specialize in Hawaii, and stock a wide selection of subjects. We also have current fiction and bestsellers, a large children's section with books and toys, travel books, and a large collection of maps, as well as gifts with an Island flair. Business Hours: Monday-Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm.

So much cuteness in such a small shop. This bookshop has a cute area for the kids, lots of books by local authors and artists. Not just books but souvenirs and post cards too.

Best sellers, unique finds, and books about as well as published in Hawai'i Wonderful finds - just off the path of Hilo's downtown. (Would recommend driving over if you have the option.)
