Adult Friends for Youth

Adult Friends for Youth (AFY) is a non-profit organization based in Honolulu, HI, dedicated to promoting peace, empathy, acceptance, respect, and love among students in schools throughout Hawaii. Through in-school counseling groups, neighborhood counseling groups, and their mobile education center, AFY provides support and inspiration to over 3,000 students across the islands of Oahu and Kauai. With a focus on anti-bullying and violence prevention, AFY's annual PEARL Week Convention brings together schools, sponsors, partners, and the PEARL Committee to create a positive and inclusive environment for Hawaii's youth.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, AFY has continued to engage with youth, offering educational support and ensuring that seniors graduate from high school and prepare for future opportunities. Their wrap-around services, including access to technology, tutoring, and smaller classes, have expanded to meet the needs of the community. AFY also encourages community involvement through donations and small change contributions, aiming to build a better future for all youth and create a stronger, more compassionate community. Through their books, "Toward a Gang Solution" and "Turning It Around, Redirectional Therapy," AFY shares their expertise in reducing youth violence and rehabilitating at-risk individuals.
