World of Wonder WOW Park in Athens, GA is an impressive playground that offers a wide range of play experiences for people of all ages. With its ten slides, including a three-story Slide Tower, climbing rock wall, Dynamo Apollo Spinner, and rope web climber, the park provides opportunities for agility, balance, imagination, and social engagement. The park also features swing areas for individuals with mobility impairment and park bench swings for parents, as well as shaded playground equipment, a central plaza with seating, and a concrete walking loop. This SPLOST-funded project creates a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for learning, creating, and playing.
Located at 325 Whit Davis Rd, the World of Wonder WOW Park is the largest play area in the Leisure Services park system. It offers a variety of play experiences, both passive and active, and is designed to promote motion, tactile sensory experience, and upper body strength. The park is a popular destination, leading to occasional parking shortages, but additional parking is available on the Lexington Road side of Southeast Clarke Park, with a short nature trail connecting the two sides. Visitors are encouraged to explore the park during less busy times or visit other Leisure Services playgrounds or dog parks.
