Westside Elementary School

Parker Mathis Elementary School is a part of Lowndes County Schools and is located in Valdosta, Ga. The school has a full-time guidance counselor that assists students in the areas of listening and study skills, behavior, peer problems, self esteem and family issues. Parker Mathis Elementary School provides academic instruction to students in prekindergarten through grade five. It offers academic classes in reading, music, computer instruction, math, science, social studies, communication skills, art, and health and physical education. The school has a library media center that supports the academic curriculum and assists students in the use of current and appropriate information. Parker Mathis Elementary School has a parent-teacher organization that organizes various fundraising activities to promote school spirit and enhance the educational opportunities.
