At Frontline Internal Medicine, LLC, Ogechi Mbakwe, MD, consistently delivers the highest level of medical care in Statesboro, Georgia, and surrounding communities. Dr. Mbakwe is board certified in internal medicine and previously studied at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition to serving her patients, she is also interested in medical research and rheumatology and affiliates with East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA.As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Mbakwe treats a variety of acute and chronic conditions using evidence-based medicine and a patient-centered, personalized approach. She is experienced in diagnosing and treating health issues, like hypertension, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, and many other medical conditions. She also offers viscosupplementation joint injections for osteoarthritis, comprehensive allergy testing, Coumadin® monitoring services and another point of care evaluations and treatments in a comfortable office environment.Graduating from the University of Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria with her BSC in Biology, Dr. Mbakwe went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Jos in Plateau State, Nigeria. Dr. Mbakwe completed her residency in internal medicine at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Mbakwe helped to set up the internal medicine department at Central Washington internal medicine, Yakima, Washington State. She worked as an internal medicine physician at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin, where she taught medical students and medical residents.As the primary provider at Frontline Internal Medicine, Dr. Mbakwe focuses on the health and well-being of each patient, creating individual custom health care plans to address patient needs.
