Savannah, GA 31401

Located in Savannah, GA, the Warrior Lift Golf Classic - AL Post 135 Bull Street is housed in a historic building that was originally built in 1913. Designed by renowned architect Hyman Wallace Witcover, the structure served various purposes over the years, including being the headquarters for the Eighth Air Force during World War II. Today, the building is home to the American Legion Post no. 135 and features a ballroom, lounge, and a restaurant called Local 11 Ten, showcasing the adaptive reuse of this architectural gem.

Under the leadership of Jack R. Davis, Sr., the American Legion Post 135 purchased the building in 1946, after negotiations with the Chatham Artillery Inc. The post invested in renovating and converting different sections of the building, including the gunsheds and a former bank, to create a functional and welcoming space for its members and the community. With its rich history and Gothic-revival facade, the Warrior Lift Golf Classic - AL Post 135 Bull Street stands as a testament to the city's architectural heritage and the Legion's commitment to serving veterans and the local community.

What an awesome golf tournament in their 4th year. Great fun, great people and money was raised for veterans.
