Our primary objective is to ensure the proper functionality of the vehicle's ADAS. New automobile safety features, such as forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and emergency braking, have become more and more common in modern vehicles. By 2020, it was reported that 44% of all new vehicles had some aspect of ADAS features. While these features have made vehicles much safer, they have also created critical maintenance issues. ADAS features rely on cameras, lasers, and radars that are typically mounted on the windshield. If a vehicle's windshield is replaced, these sensors, lasers, and cameras must be recalibrated with the ADAS to ensure proper functionality, and to also adhere to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. In addition, recalibration is necessary after a fault code, a disconnect, if the camera bracket is broken or detached, or after a change of suspension or wheel alignment. If recalibration does not occur, these critical safety sensors could fail, exposing the driver and passengers to accident, injury, or death.
