Washington Electric Membership Corporation is a nonprofit, member-owned electric cooperative that provides electric services to customers in Washington, Johnson, Hancock, Baldwin, Warren, Laurens, Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson and Wilkinson counties in New York. It operates an appliance showroom that sells security systems, Holland grills, water heaters, weather radios, pagers and water systems. The corporation s product line additionally includes video tape recorders, televisions and home theater systems. Washington Electric Membership Corporation provides products of brands, including General Electric, Hotpoint, Zenith, GE and RCA. Its affiliate partners include Georgia Electric Membership Corporation and National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative. The corporation is headquartered in Sandersville, Ga.
