Atlanta, GA 30328

The General Muir is a modern American restaurant with two locations in Atlanta, Georgia. Inspired by classic New York Jewish Delis, the restaurant pays homage to tradition by hand-crafting dishes such as house-cured and smoked pastrami and hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels. The menu also features fresh ingredients and simple preparations, going beyond the traditional deli fare. The restaurant is named after the refugee transport ship that brought co-owner Jennifer Johnson's mother and grandparents, Holocaust survivors, to New York in 1949.

Owned by Jennifer and Ben Johnson, Shelley Sweet, and Chef Todd Ginsberg, The General Muir is part of the Rye Restaurants family, which includes other popular Atlanta establishments. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch at both locations, with dinner available at the Emory location. In addition to a full bar offering wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails, The General Muir also has an espresso bar serving locally-roasted coffee. Next door to the original Emory location, TGM Bread and TGM Soup Co. offer fresh baked breads, soups, and take-home loaves.
