The General Muir
The General Muir is a modern American restaurant in Atlanta, GA, inspired by the classic New York Jewish Deli. They honor tradition by hand-crafting their dishes, including house-cured and smoked pastrami and hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels. With a focus on fresh ingredients and simple preparations, they offer breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch at both locations, as well as dinner at their Emory location.
Owned by Jennifer and Ben Johnson, Shelley Sweet, and Chef Todd Ginsberg, The General Muir is part of the Rye Restaurants family of restaurants. They also operate TGM Bread and TGM Soup Co., which offer fresh baked breads and soups for a quick lunch and to take home. The restaurant is named after the refugee transport ship that brought co-owner Jennifer Johnson's mother and grandparents, Holocaust survivors, to New York in 1949.
