The Swinging Bridge on the Toccoa River, a 270-foot-long structure, is the longest swinging bridge east of the Mississippi River and serves as a popular hiking destination in Fannin County, Georgia. Located along the Benton MacKaye Trail and the Duncan Ridge National Recreation Trail, it attracts day-hikers and paddlers alike, offering scenic views and access to beautiful wilderness trails.
Constructed by the USDA Forest Service in cooperation with the Appalachian Trail Club in 1977, the bridge can be accessed from both sides of the Toccoa River, featuring short, pleasant walks that guide visitors to this unique landmark.
