History
The mission of St. Luke School was developed by a collection of St. Luke United Methodist Church members, board members, staff and parents in 1998 when the school was established. From the late nineties until 2003, all classes were held in the St. Luke Early Learning Center building. St. Luke School started with Kindergarten and added a grade each year, and by 2002-2003 there was a desire by parents to continue the educational program to serve the middle grades as well. In 2003, a Headmaster was hired, and grades 6-8 were added for the 2003-2004 school year. The school's enrollment for that year was over 200, with 36 middle school students. The school has experienced tremendous growth in the years since, and now has over 550 students enrolled.
Specialties
The mission of St. Luke School is to provide each student with an excellent academic education that is faith-based, by challenging the mind, body and spirit, and by developing responsible servant leadership. Our mission is just a small part of what makes us different from other K-8 schools in the Columbus, GA area. We are committed to providing our students with a strong academic foundation. But it doesn't end there. We are also teaching our students about wellness and healthy choices, about growing in faith. In other words, our focus is on the development of the whole child, in mind, body, and spirit.
