Upson County Sheriff Office offers a range of security and protection service to the visitors and more than 25,000 residents of Upson County in Georgia. The Coweta County Prison is a 216-bed facility that provides detention facilities to state and county criminals sentenced by the Georgia Department of Corrections and local courts. The inmates perform a variety of functions for the county, such as road paving and maintenance, building construction, landscaping and lawn maintenance, animal care, road construction, laundry and food service. Located in Newnan, Ga., the Coweta County Prison operates a work release center that supports various programs to prepare inmates for a successful transition from the jail back into the community.
