Established in 1961, Russell Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers a range of general academic and extracurricular programs in science, math, art, music and physical education. The school s staff includes several teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, specialists, and food service and office personnel. It offers medical care, reading recovery programs and speech pathology, guidance and counseling services. The school also offers a variety of special education services and provides the English for Speakers of Other Languages program. Russell Elementary School s facility includes a library and media center that offers a collection of books, tapes and CDs for student reference. It operates a parent-teacher association that sponsors and supports various school events and activities. The school is located in Smyrna, Ga.
