Shimmy with Saniyah Belly Dance Workout classes were started to bring a new choice for exercise, fitness and fun to South DeKalb County. Belly dance is known and respected as an ancient art form and a great low impact way to exercise. Saniyah has been studying and performing belly dance for more than 10 years in the Southeast. Her mission is to expose others to this cultural dance style by using exercise to educate and entertain. Shimmy with Saniyah classes are a great workout as well as a great time!
In Shimmy with Saniyah Belly Dance Workout Classes, we offer dance fitness classes that are structured around bellydance technique with a touch of Yoga, Pilates and Zumba-like moves and structure. You will learn basic belly dance techniques, movements and combinations while you move to a great mix of music! We provide a low impact cardio workout that strengthens your upper/lower body, core and offers a full body workout. The classes are low impact, great cardio and are really fun. Many participants say they didn't expect to sweat that much and that it was a better workout than expected. We do moves, drills and combinations that incorporate many styles of belly dance to music from Middle Eastern, African to American pop. Classes may also include some combinations from other dance styles from Turkish to Latin. No experience needed. 18+ please. 15-17 with an adult. Individual and group classes at your home are also an option.
