Atlanta Printmakers Studio Inc

HistoryThe Atlanta Printmakers Studio (APS) was established to support the fine art of printmaking in metro Atlanta. Founders envisioned an organization that would provide a well-equipped printmaking studio for local artists as well as raise the awareness of printmaking as an art form. In August 2005 the incorporation papers were signed and in December 2006 APS's 501c3 non-profit status was approved - Atlanta Printmakers Studio was founded. Local art centers, universities, and galleries made available their facilities and galleries for workshops and exhibits as APS built membership and formed the organization. APS moved into the Metropolitan Warehouse complex and opened in November 2006 near downtown Atlanta, and classes began in January 2007. Over the years APS has become a vital printmaking resource for artists, collectors, college students and children.SpecialtiesAtlanta Printmakers Studio (APS) was established for the purpose of operating a community arts center devoted primarily to fine art printmaking in the metropolitan Atlanta area. APS's activities are intended to educate the general public regarding printmaking, to encourage public support for and appreciation of printmaking, and to make available to the general public a facility and the equipment necessary for the making of fine art prints. Members rent time in the professional studio for a fee. APS offers seasoned artists and novices alike opportunities to enroll in a range of printmaking classes and workshops. Besides activity in the studio, APS has developed a continuing calendar of outreach events to serve the local community. Each year programing has grown as we've added annual artist residencies, student scholarships, collectors prints, artist exchanges and an increasing number of exhibitions. We welcome all artists and the general public to join us in creating, learning about, and collecting fine art prints.
