Roots Up Gallery grew from the personal folk art collection of its owners, Leslie Lovell and Francis Allen, who spent several years tracking down folk artists around the southeastern United States.

We share paintings, ceramics, and jewelry by local artists with a focus on Southern Folk Art by self-taught, outsider, and visionary artists. Our mix of artists includes Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Howard Finster, Missionary Mary Proctor, Jim Kopp, along with a host of local Savannah artists such as Panhandle Slim, Rebecca Sipper, Leslie Lovell, and Helen Durant.
