In 1920, Roger Wood joined Cudahy Packing in Savannah, Ga. In 1936, Wood and others started their own meat packing plant. Then 10 years later, after World War II and a temporary closing, Wood restarted the company s operations as sole owner and named it Roger Wood Packing Company. Roger Wood Foods is a family-owned and operated meat-processing company. The company produces several types of sausage, hot dogs, smoked and cured meats that include bacon, hocks and turkey wings and Hispanic meats.
