Dr. Maheshwari earned his medical degree from Wayne State Medical School in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Emory University School of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Maheshwari completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Emory University and a second fellowship at Emory University Hospital in transplant hepatology. Dr. Maheshwari has been widely published in leading journals including The American Journal of Gastroenterology and has co-authored several textbook chapters. Dr. Maheshwari is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Transplantation, American College of Physicians, America College of Gastroenterology, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. In his spare time, Dr. Maheshwari enjoy traveling, cooking, running, attending sporting events, playing football and basketball, hiking, and spending time with his family. He is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
