R.F. Knox Company was originally founded in 1914 as Knox & Meier Company. Its principle business was repairing roofs and making items, such as grate fronts, stove pipe and small sheet metal products. Along with R.F. Knox and J.J. Meier, there were six other mechanics and helpers. Eventually, J.J. Meier dropped out as a partner and the name was changed to R.F. Knox Company and was incorporated in 1936. The company is capable of shearing, rolling, bending, punching, notching, drilling and welding varieties of metal in sheet thicknesses of a quarter inch and lighter. The capabilities extend not only to the steel and aluminum that are stocked in inventory, but also to other metals, such as copper, brass and other alloys of stainless steel. R.F.
